7 March 2020
to
7 March 2020

Hamish McKeich Conductor. To mark the 250th anniversary of his birth, the NZSO presents a unique concert guiding you through the music of Beethoven, his influences and composers he subsequently inspired. Realising Beethoven features works from the great composer himself, such as his dramatic Egmont Overture, as well as movements from his great symphonies alongside Wagner\'s The Flying Dutchman Overture, Berlioz\' Beatrice et Benedict Overture and works by other celebrated composers who admired Beethoven\'s phenomenal talents. The journey through this magical performance will be narrated by NZSO players, telling stories and offering insights for audiences old and new. NZSO Setting up Camp The NZSO travels through Greater Wellington, Wairarapa, Palmerston North, Hamilton and Tauranga for several days for a variety of performances and activities. From evening concerts featuring Bach and Beethoven, to NZSO musicians providing educational opportunities and relaxed events for all ages, NZSO Setting up Camp is a great chance to spend time with your Orchestra and friends old and new.
