Please note finish times are estimated. The PNDA Competition Dance Festival covers both classical and modern dance genres including ballet, barefoot, national character, demi character, neoclassical, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap and musical theatre. Competitors are local, from around the North Island and reaching to the South Island. The class range for competitors is 6 years and under to 16 years and over. The competition covers both solo and group items. It is suitable for family holiday entertainment. There are Day passes and Festival passes available. The Festival pass covers 19 sessions of competition over the 6 days and evenings. The Gala event is held within the competition, commencing on Monday afternoon and continuing into the evening. This features the ballet championship classes. It is a stunning event. Special guest artists are included in the evening programme. Palmerston North Dance Association Patron Sir Jon Trimmer will be in attendance for the evening performances.
